シドニーのボンダイビーチで致命的な襲撃事件
A terrorist attack happened on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia during a Hanukkah celebration yesterday afternoon. Two gunmen opened fire at the crowd, killing at least 15 people and injuring more than 40 others. One attacker was shot and killed by police at the scene, and the other was wounded and taken to hospital under guard.
The event took place during a public celebration by the Jewish community. Police also found and removed a suspected explosive device at the scene. The Australian prime minister said the attack was a deliberate act of antisemitism and condemned the violence. People from around the world have offered condolences to the families of the victims.
Leaders in Australia now plan to strengthen gun laws and increase security. A civilian who tackled one of the gunmen and disarmed him is being called a hero for helping save lives during the attack.
