簡単英語ニュース – Exercise May Help Older Adults Move More Easily

運動は高齢者の動きを改善するかもしれない

A new study from the United States says that aerobic exercise like running may help older adults move more quickly and safely. Researchers found that exercise caused a surge of a brain chemical called dopamine. This chemical helps with movement and coordination. In the study, older mice that ran on a wheel had improved mobility compared to mice that did not exercise.

The scientists say this may also give clues about Parkinson’s disease, a condition where dopamine slowly decreases and movement becomes difficult. Exercise did not make the mice’s muscles stronger, but it improved their balance, and speed. This suggests that physical activity can help the brain stay healthy even during aging.

The team says more research is needed, but their findings show that regular exercise may help slow decline in movement as people get older. They hope this information will support future treatments for age-related mobility problems.
